
Tom Howley
President
Tom Howley has a particular focus on real estate development, legal matters, marketing strategy, franchisor/franchisee relationships, and facilitating strong critical thinking at all levels of the company. Tom is Co-Chair of Panera’s national franchisee/senior management advisory board. Prior to joining HBG, Tom was General Counsel of Au Bon Pain and Panera Bread, LLC. Strong collaborative leadership based on respectful, engaged, authentic listening and critical thinking is a guiding principle for Tom. An active citizen volunteer in his community, Tom has served as Chairman of the Winchester Planning Board and Board of Selectmen and was named Winchester’s 2013 “Outstanding Citizen of the Year." He enjoys family, exercise, music, reading, sharing good food with friends, and being around water.

Luke Howley
Chief Operating Officer
Luke provides oversight and direction for café operations and Senior Operations Support while strengthening collaboration within Human Resources, Catering, Marketing, and Facilities departments. He is a graduate of Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. A resident of Providence, Luke enjoys soccer and riding his bicycle.

Adam Vanek
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Adam leads all financial functions. He recently marked 10 years with Howley Bread Group, rising from Financial Analyst to CFO through a track record of strong performance and leadership. Adam holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from Baldwin Wallace University. He values the power of technology and has partnered closely with Lee Howley III to implement modern solutions that drive efficiency and improve outcomes. Before joining HBG, Adam worked at a healthcare IT startup, where he learned to translate complex tech into actionable insights. He also spent over six years with a multi-unit smoothie franchisee, advancing from Shift Leader to District Manager while overseeing financial operations. Outside the office, Adam enjoys time with his wife and three children, staying active in his church, and working through his ever-growing reading list.

David May
Vice President of Operations
David oversees operations for HBG’s 25 cafes across CT, RI and MA. Prior to joining HBG in January 2015, David spent 16 years with Chili’s Grill & Bar as an Assistant Manager, Managing Partner and Area Director. In total he has over 35 years of experience in the restaurant industry. Every summer David can be found volunteering at the Traveler’s Championship PGA golf tournament where he is Assistant Chairman of the Player Relations committee. He is an avid golfer, Boston sports fan and loves spending time with his wife and two children.
